Enjoy a wonderful experience while exploring the 85 acre Conservation Area which includes pioneer buildings, beautiful gardens, nature trails, sheltered picnic areas and a charming mill pond.
Five of the original 11 pioneer buildings occupy the site along with additional buildings to represent the lifestyle of the past. These buildings have been restored by dedicated craftsmen and volunteers for the enjoyment of everyone and particularly for those who value the importance of preserving our heritage

The "Covered Bridge" project has begun. March 23, 2012.
Having completed the new millpond dam in 2011, our main project this year is the building of an old fashioned Covered Bridge over this structure. It is post and beam construction complete with wood pegged mortise and tenon joinery. All of the roof trusses and 16 foot wall sections have now been made and will moved to the dam site on May 9th for the "Raising".
Below is the photoshop rendering by Peter Sporring done in 2011 of what the covered bridge should look like when completed, and an actual photo taken on May 11, 2012, the day after we raised the structure. Looks like we'll actually have it completed for "Opening Day" on May 27th.
Check out its progress in the "Covered Bridge" link at the left.

April 22.
The now almost completed Stone puller has been moved to the Mill site. The two large back wheels will be installed on Heritage day in July when the last one will have its steel tire installed as a wheelwright demonstration. At that point a team of draught horses will be hooked up and a large boulder will be lifted..
See its complete rebuild in the "Machine Restorations" link at left.
