Visitors

The O’Hara Mill Homestead is a great place to spend an hour, a day, a weekend or even longer.  While the grounds are accessible throughout the year to enjoy nature, the historical buildings are only open during the summer season. 

There is something for everyone:

  • History with 19th century saw mill, log house and school, a Victorian house, carpentry and blacksmith shops.  Scheduled demonstrations are presented in all
  • Gardening.  An extensive variety of 19th flowers, herbs, vegetables, fruits and field crops are presented in the Heritage Gardens.
  • Hiking the nature trails
  • Geocaching
  • Picnics
  • Bird watching
  • Photography
  • Volunteering
  • School groups with advance planning.  Learning opportunities can be prepared complete with classroom in the Log School House.
  • Tour groups with advance planning.
  • Musicians occasionally take to the Little Band Shell stage

You can bring your pets but they must be restrained and are not permitted in some of the buildings.
