For clarity, there are two sets of "open hours" or "hours of operation". The O’Hara Mill Homestead is open for the enjoyment of nature , whether hiking the trails, photographing or painting nature or just sitting enjoying the view over the mill pond, from dawn to dusk every day of the year. The hours that staff are in attendance, and homestead buildings are open for viewing, are presented below.
The O’Hara Mill Homestead is open from dawn to dusk, seven days a week, from May to October. There are no admission fees except for our Heritage Day event. Group rates for tour groups of up to 100 people are available. There are programs available for schools.
Guided Tours are available:
- Saturday & Sundays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m during May and June and from Labour Day to Thanksgiving Weekend, and,
- Tuesday to Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m during July and August.
Most buildings are now accessible to everyone including the handicapped. Our new Visitor’s Center, completed in late 2009, provides fully modern washroom facilities during the hours that the site is staffed. Rudimentary washroom facilities are available at all times.
